Sri Lankan doctor to the rescue

A Sri Lankan doctor has managed to save the life of an elderly woman who was on a flight coming from Melbourne, Australia to Sri Lanka, after treating her for a sudden illness. 

A consultant Pediatrician at the Colombo South Teaching Hospital, Dr. Manori Gamage, who was in the same flight with the elderly woman had come to her assistance when she developed a sudden illness during the flight.

She is also a Professor in the Faculty of Medicine of Sri Jayewardenepura University.

The crew of SriLankan Airlines flight flying from Melbourne to Colombo had made an announcement requesting a doctor or someone who can provide medical assistance to come forward.

Accordingly, Dr. Manori Gamage had come forward and provided basic treatment to the elderly woman who was having trouble breathing

She had given the elderly woman some basic medicine and medical care until she was brought to Katunayake.
