The Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies has issued a new Circular regarding the purchase of paddy for the 2022/2023 season.
The Circular states that a kilo of paddy with a maximum moisture content of 14 percent should be purchased for Rs. 100.
Also, the ministry has informed that Rs. 88 should be given for a kilo of paddy with a moisture content of more than 14 percent but less than 22 percent.
According to the Ministry of Finance, 2,000 kilos of paddy will be purchased from farmers who have cultivated one acre, 4,000 kilos of paddy from farmers who have cultivated up to two acres and 5,000 kilos of paddy from farmers who have cultivated more than two acres.
