The body of the final year student of the Ocean University of Colombo who had drowned while bathing in the Chilaw beach on Saturday was found by fishermen in the seas off Iranawila yesterday. Police said the student, who was among a group of 60 people who were on a leisure trip, had been swept away by strong currents while bathing in the sea.
The victim is 25-year-old Malith Jayalath, a resident of Rambukkana Chilaw Police and Navy had launched an operation to find the missing student on Saturday but they had been unable to locate him.
