Travelling in Delhi? Avoid these roads today

New Delhi: 

The Delhi Traffic Police on Monday issued an advisory saying that traffic in some parts of the national capital would be affected due to special arrangements. He informed that in some areas, the traffic will be completely stopped from 7 am to 12 noon.

In the advisory, cars and private vehicles have been asked to avoid Motilal Nehru Marg, Akbar Road, Janpath and Man Singh Road. Apart from these areas, it has asked them to stay away from Gol Methi Junction, Tughlaq Road Junction, Claridges Junction, Q-Point Junction, Sunhari Masjid Junction and Maulana Azad Road Junction.

“Due to special traffic arrangements inwards movement of buses will be restricted in New Delhi beyond Gol Dak Khana Junction, Patel Chowk,  Windsor Place, Teen Murti Chowk, Prithviraj Road,” the Delhi Police said in a statement.

“Kindly avoid Gol Methi junction, Tughlak Road Junction, Claridges Junction, Q-point Junction, Sunehri Masjid Junction, Maulana Azad Road Junction & Man Singh Road Junction between 0700 hrs & 1200 hrs. Due to special arrangements there will be heavy traffic movement on these roads,” the statement added.

“Kindly avoid Motilal Nehru Marg, Akbar Road, Janpath & Man Singh Road between 0700 hrs & 1200 hrs. Due to special arrangements traffic movement will not be possible on these roads.”

Buses have been asked to avoid going beyond Gol Dak Khana Junction, Patel Chowk, Windsor Place, Tin Murti Chowk and Prithviraj Road areas.

Officials said that after clearing the bridge Prahladpur underpass a few days ago, the traffic has been restored on the Mehrauli-Badarpur section.

PWD officials said that water has been cleaned from the bridge Prahladpur underpass with the help of additional pumps and manpower.
