'Impending rout' for Congress in Gujarat, Himachal,' predicts poll strategist Kishor

New Delhi:

Political strategist Prashant Kishor on Friday called the Congress ‘Chintan Shivir’ a failure that has not achieved anything meaningful. He said the move will buy some time for the grand-old party “impending electoral rout in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh”.

“I’ve been repeatedly asked to comment on the outcome of Udaipur Chintan Shivir. In my view, it failed to achieve anything meaningful other than prolonging the status-quo and giving some time to the Congress leadership, at least till the impending electoral rout in Gujarat and HP!,” tweeted Kishor.

Kishor said ‘more than me, party needs leadership and collective will’. In many rounds of meeting with party’s top officials, a rescue plan was discussed where the focus was on the revival of the Congress’ presence.

Soon after rejecting Congress’s offer, Kishor hinted of making his own political party. However, many times since then, he has been denying to confirm the news.
