New Delhi:
Two terrorists have been killed in an encounter by Jammu and Kashmir Police force. The information was given through a tweet from the J&K’s official Twitter handle.
The incident took place in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The police said that arms and ammunition had been recovered from the neutralized terrorists. They further said that search in the area is underway.
Minutes earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir police had also tweeted that an encounter operation has started at the Shitipora area of Bijbehara in the south Kashmir district. Security forces than launched a cordon and search operation there.
The forces were conducting search operations when they were fired upon. Following this the forces retaliated and ensured that both the terrorists are neutralized.
Meanwhile, in two separate encounters that took place in Awantipore and Srinagar, 4 terrorists were neutralized on Friday night. These terrorists were affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba group.
The police said that the terrorists who were killed in Awantipore had active involvement in the killing of television actor Amreen Bhat in Budgam on Wednesday evening.
