Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong met Customs Director General Major General (Retd.) G. Vijitha Ravipriya on Monday and handed yet another batch of PPEs including 585 sets of protective cloths and shoes, 50,000 disposable face masks, 9,600 KN95 face masks, 240 goggles, 1,500 pairs of disposable gloves and 10 sterilamps for front line officers fighting the COVID pandemic.
A car toppled in Thalankudha along the Batticaloa-Kalmunai Highway in the Kattankudy Police area yesterday. The driver was hospitalised along with the two children who were in the car when it toppled. The Kattankudy Police are investigating. Picture by Sivam Packiyanathan, Batticaloa Special Corr.
