Over 3,000 dengue patients have been detected from January 1 to March 15 this year, Health Ministry Dengue Control Unit Director Dr. Aruna Jayasekara said.
Three persons had died of dengue. The Batticaloa District has reported the highest number of dengue patients.
About 35,000 dengue patients had been reported last year and 35 had died of dengue.
About 34 Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) and 235 Family Health Nurses (FHN) have been deployed to visit government schools of the Kurunegala and Puttalam Districts, Kurunegala DMO Dr. S.M.A.Priyadarshana said.
