The printing of ballot papers for all districts has been completed and other ancillary tasks will also be completed soon, Government Printer Ganga Kalapani Liyanage said issuing a statement.

The Department of Government Printing is efficiently engaged in the duties assigned to them with regard to the upcoming General Election following all health guidelines, Liyanage said.

Issuing a statement, she said it takes more time for the printing process unlike previous elections as they follow all health guidelines and will be handed over to the Elections Commission at the earliest.

The printing of ballot papers commenced on June 6 and the entire staff had been deployed except health risk groups. “Other than printing ballot papers there are many more duties assigned to the Government Press. Therefore the Department has deployed the highest possible number of staff for an effective service,” the statement read.
