UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayake’s nomination at the upcoming General Elections is doubtful in the wake of controversial voice recordings that had leaked-out, UNP MP Wijayapala Hettiarachchi said.
Speaking at a press conference at Sirikotha UNP Headquarters, Hettiarachchi observed that MP Ramanayake would have to clear his name to be eligible to get the nomination from the party.
Responding to a question by a journalist, the MP however said the party would wait till a formal charge sheet is submitted to the court to proceed on disciplinary inquiry against MP Ramanayake.
