The Kurunduwatta Police are investigating the theft of over Rs.10 million worth cash and gold items from the house of a businessman at Ward Place, Colombo 7.
In the complaint lodged with the Police, it is stated that among the items stolen were Rs.500,000 in cash and three gold necklaces, 10 gold bracelets,10 pairs of gold earrings, five gold rings, three ladies watches and a projector.
The theft took place between 8 p.m. on November 19 and 6 a.m. on November 20.
The businessman who owns the house and his wife were not at home when the theft took place.They had stayed in Galle that day. The servant in the house had informed the house owner about the theft.
Accordingly, Police have begun an investigation into the theft after viewing the security camera footage.
