The Police Special Task Force has arrested a private tuition master who sold intoxicant tablets to school students. The Special Task Force states that he had distributed these tablets to the students while staying in a rented house near a leading college in Kalutara.
He was arrested following a lengthy investigation on information received by the officials of Katukurunda Training School of the Special Task Force.He has sold this drug which is prohibited to be sold without a doctor’s prescription, at Rs.100 per pill.
It is said that the market price of a pill of this kind is around Rs.20. Investigations by the Special Task Force have revealed that he has earned a lot of income by selling these pills to students.
The special task force officers also found 1,299 pills in the possession of the teacher at the time of arrest.
