Investigations conducted by the police have revealed that an airman attached to the Batticaloa Air Force base has been abducted in Manampitiya and tied to a tree in his underwear at Reedithenna in Valachchenai.
However police investigations found that the incident was an act done by the airman himself.
Accordingly the airman in question has been arrested by the police.
It is said that due to being heavily addicted to a paid video games and being a debtor to his friends, he tried to commit suicide and at the last moment he had remembered his wife and given up his idea.
Later he had pretended to have been kidnapped.
