Bangarmau (Uttar Pradesh):

Yet another case of brutality against girls came in light from Bangarmau of Unnao district in Uttar Pradesh where the body of a Dalit minor was found in blood on the railway tracks. The girl was allegedly abducted from her house a night ago.

After recovering the body, the police sent it for the post-mortem.

Meanwhile, the family of the girl alleged that she was first raped and assaulted before being killed. The father of the 14-year-old who was found dead covered in blood, accused that the girl was beaten to death after banging her head to a pillar. The pillar that had the blood stains, is located near the railway tracks where the body was found.

Family of the deceased urged the administration to find out the culprit.

Bangarmau is the same district that was once represented by Kuldeep Singh Sengar who was convicted of raping a 17-year-old girl in 2017.  Sengar who was the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was expelled in 2019 due to the allegations of rape against the former.

The gruesome Unnao rape gained the attention across the nation after the rape survivor attempted to suicide in front of the residence of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath citing the inaction of the police.

Following the controversy, the police had arrested the father of rape victim under the Arms Act. However, the father died while being in the custody allegedly due to police brutality.

In July 2019, the girl was travelling to Raebareli with her aunts and lawyer when a truck collided with the car. The accident left the three people dead including the lawyer while the rape victim was admitted to hospital in a very critical condition.

The girl survived and Sengar was pronounced the punishment of life in prison.
