Sri Lanka Freedom Party General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekera said that the Party will take action against Ministers Nimal Siripala De Silva and Mahinda Amaraweera for accepting ministerial portfolios without informing the Party. He said that action will be taken against them at the right time. “The party took action against MPs Shantha Bandara and Dr. Suren Raghavan for accepting ministerial portfolios without informing the Party and actions should be taken against Ministers Nimal Siripala De Silva and Mahinda Amaraweera”, he said.
Meanwhile SLFP Chairman Maithripala Sirisena in a release yesterday said that the Central Committee of the Party had decided to extend its support to the government’s progressive decisions while sitting in the Opposition.
“The Party Central Committee decided to remove the SLFP MPs from all positions held by them in the Party if they accept ministerial portfolios, the release said.
