Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, Governor Koshyari test Covid-19 positive amid political crisis

Maharashtra Political Crisis:

After Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari tested positive for Covid-19 amid the ongoing political turmoil in Maharashtra, now Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has also become coronavirus infected. 

Congress leader and state Congress observer Kamal Nath, who reached Maharashtra this morning, said that Uddhav Thackeray has become coronavirus positive. 

“That’s why I won’t be able to meet him now. Uddhav Thackeray will join the cabinet meeting through video conferencing this evening,” Kamal Nath said.

However, the Chief Minister’s Office has not yet been confirmed the reports that claim that Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray has tested positive for coronavirus.

Kamal Nath, while talking to the media after the meeting of the Congress Legislature Party, said that Uddhav Thackeray is coronavirus positive and he further said that he is now going to meet NCP supremo Sharad Pawar. 

Earlier, a meeting of party leaders was held at the residence of Congress leader and state minister Balasaheb Thorat regarding the crisis on the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. He told that the meeting of Congress Legislature Party was held. All 44 MLAs participated in it.

After the rebellion of Shiv Sena veteran Eknath Shinde, there is a crisis in the Uddhav Thackeray government in the state. According to reports quoting sources, Uddhav Thackeray may resign from the post of Chief Minister this evening amid the rebellious attitude of Eknath Shinde.

Uddhav Thackeray has called a cabinet meeting today and it is being speculated that in this meeting talks can be held on the recommendation to dissolve the assembly, after which Uddhav Thackeray may resign from the post of Maharashtra Chief Minister and recommend the dissolution of the assembly to the governor. and may demand fresh elections.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has also indicated the dissolution of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly by tweeting. Sanjay Raut earlier said in a statement that whatever happens at most, the power will be gone. 

“Prestige should remain, if power goes, it will come again,” Sanjay Raut said. 

He then indicated in a tweet that the assembly could be dissolved. It can be recommended in the cabinet meeting to be held today.

Eknath Shinde is planning his future strategy at Hotel Radisson Blu in Guwahati, Assam. According to Eknath Shinde, 40 Shiv Sena MLAs are present with him. 

There are also reports that Eknath Shinde has also written a letter to the Governor of Maharashtra and it is believed that he can meet the Governor soon. 

However, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has become coronavirus infected and has been admitted to hospital. It is being said that Goa Governor Sriradharan Pillai may be given additional charge of Maharashtra.
