From Mumtaz to Mahima Chaudhry, 6 Bollywood celebs who battled breast cancer

Women from showbiz industry have been serving as inspiration to many for decades now. On numerous occasions, they have shown enormous courage in dealing with tough situations with the biggest smile. In an industry that is full of glamour and pretense, it’s not easy to find stories that are inspiring and believable. Today, we are introducing to Bollywood women who have defeated the deadly breast cancer and emerged as victorious. 

Tahira Kashyap ( 2018)

In 2018, filmmaker and author Tahira Kashyap, who is married to actor Ayushmann Khurana, was diagnosed with Stage 0 breast cancer. When she was diagnosed, she didn’t hide it; she decided to document it in order to inspire other women in the world. She finished her treatment in January 2019 and is now cancer-free! Often, she takes to Instagram to share her journey with her Instagram followers. 

Barbara Mori (2007)

Actress Barbara Mori, who made headlines for her steamy romance with Hrithik Roshan post the release of their film Kites, is also a cancer survivor. Post her recover, Barbara has been actively involved in raising awareness among women to take care of themselves and has had frequent checkups since then.

 Mumtaz (2002)

Veteran actress Mumtaz was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002. Even though she was in her 50s, the actress was able to win over the deadly disease after six chemotherapies and 35 radiation treatments. The actress is healthy and is living a happy life with her family away from the film industry.

Chhavi Mittal (2022)

Actress Chhavi Mittal was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. Since then, Chhavi has been sharing her journey with her fans and she has recently completed her treatment. She also shares how she has been taking care of herself post the treatment. 

Mahima Chaudhry (2022)

On June 9, veteran actor Anupam Kher took to Twitter to reveal that Mahima Chaudhry has been battling breast cancer. In an emotional note, the Pardes actor shared her journey with cancer and it’s all sorts of inspiring.
