Congress to hold protests against ED notice to Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi:

The Congress has decided to organise protests over the notices of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) received by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. In this connection, the Congress will hold press conferences across the country today.

There is news that all the Congress MPs and members of the working committee will march to the ED office. While the party will hold ‘satyagraha’ outside ED offices in all the states to oppose the summons.

In the National Herald case, the ED has given a new date to Sonia and Rahul. The ED has given notice to Rahul Gandhi to appear on June 13 and Sonia Gandhi on June 23.

Senior Congress leaders say the demonstration is aimed at exposing the BJP-led central government’s “politics of vengeance” and the misuse of central agencies. A similar show of strength took place in 2015 when Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi sought bail in the case.
