Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has targeted the Shahbaz Sharif government for raising the prices of petrol and diesel by 30 Pakistani rupees per liter.
Terming Shahbaz Sharif’s regime as ‘insensitive’, Imran Khan criticized the Pakistan government for not negotiating the deal made by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party with Russia for 30% cheaper oil.
Imran Khan heaped praise on India, saying the strategic ally of the US has managed to bring down fuel prices by Rs 25 per liter in Pakistani currency by buying cheaper oil from Russia.
Imran Khan took to Twitter to slam the Shahbaz Sharif government for the frequent fuel price hikes in Pakistan.
“Nation starting to pay price for Imported govt’s subservience before foreign masters with 20% / Rs30 per litre hike in petrol & diesel prices – the highest single price hike in our history.The incompetent & insensitive Govt has not pursued our deal with Russia for 30% cheaper oil,” Imran Khan wrote.
“In contrast India, strategic ally of US, has managed to reduce fuel prices by Pkr 25 per litre by buying cheaper oil from Russia. Now our nation will suffer another massive dose of inflation at the hands of this cabal of crooks,” he added.
Pakistan on Thursday raised the prices of petroleum products by 30 per liter in Pakistani currency, saying the decision has been taken to ensure the revival of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme.
