Here are five players who have scored the most hundreds in the tournament.
Chris Gayle
Chris Gayle is the greatest T20 player of all time and has hit a record 6 centuries in the cash-rich league. His first hundred came when he played a sharp knock of 102 runs off 55 balls with the help of 10 fours and 7 sixes in the 2011 IPL. In 2018, when he was unsold in the first round of the auction but picked by the Punjab franchise.
Virat Kohli
Indian ex-skipper Virat Kohli broke all big records by hitting 4 hundred in one single season and aggregated 973 runs in the 2016 IPL. Under his captaincy, Royal Challengers Bangalores reached the finals after finishing in the top 2 in the points table.
David Warner
David Warner is one of the most successful overseas players in the tournament. He has smacked 4 tons so far. In the 2010 Indian Premier League (IPL) Warner scored his first ton while playing for Delhi Capitals (DC) and achieved the landmark again in 2012. Later, in the 2017 IPL when he was part of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) he hit his first half-century against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In the 2019 IPL, David and Jonny Bairstow together got centuries against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Shane Watson
In the 2018 Indian Premier League final, oversea player Shane Watson played splendid innings of 117 in 57 balls helping Chennai Super Kings become the champion.
Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler hit four centuries in the gala tournament. In the 2021 edition, he breached the three-figure mark as many as three times in IPL 2022.
KL Rahul
In the 2019 and 2020 Indian Premier League editions, KL Rahul hit a century. Meanwhile, in the 2021 edition, his highest score was 98 not out. In 2022, he reached triple figures twice. He also hit four centuries in the gala tournament.
