'You've messed with wrong guys': BJP's Tejasvi Surya warns AAP after Tajinder Bagga's arrest

New Delhi:

Soon after the Punjab Police arrested BJP’s Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga in Delhi, the ruling party at the Centre launched a scathing attack on Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

From sharing videos and photos of the incident to alleging assault on Bagga’s father, tweets were pouring in on the social media website by various BJP leaders. Several BJP workers also gathered outside a police station and protested the action of Punjab Police.

BJP MP Tejashwi Surya, who last month staged a protest outside Arvind Kejriwal’s residence over his remarks on the film ‘The Kashmir Files’, tweeted on Friday, “Have spoken with Tajinder Bagga’s mother. Assured her that entire organisation is with them in this hour of oppression. BJYM will do everything in our capacity to bring Bagga back to safety & liberty. We will fight back! Arvind Kejriwal, you have messed with the wrong guys.”

BJP’s IT cell chief Amit Malviya wrote, “Arvind Kejriwal’s brazen misuse of Punjab police to target political opponents is not unexpected. He had been raging for this. But this won’t go down well. We will fight to secure every single karyakarta of ours and ensure that Kejriwal learns how to handle power the hard way…”

Tagging Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who joined BJP from Akali Dal a few months back, tweeted in Hindi, “In Punjab, goons, mafia are openly killing, youth die due to drugs.” and Punjab Police is being used for vendetta politics in Delhi. Don’t defame Sikhs like this @Bhagwant Maan ji.

In a statement quoted by news agency ANI, the Punjab Police said that Bagga was arrested as he did not join the investigation of a case registered against him in the state. He was given five notices to come and join the investigation. The notice was duly followed. This morning, under the law, Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga was arrested from his home in Delhi. Please tell that Bagga is the national secretary of the youth wing of the BJP and is also the spokesperson of Delhi BJP.

The Punjab Police further said that the 36-year-old leader was being taken to Punjab where he would be produced before the court. The Aam Aadmi Party formed the government in Punjab after securing a landslide mandate in the February-March round of state elections.
