Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini alleged that the truth behind the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks is being concealed.
Addressing a media briefing in Colombo yesterday, he said that they wrote to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa requesting him to investigate certain claims that were revealed in Parliament, including a statement by the Former Attorney General Dappula de Livera regarding a conspiracy behind the bombings. However, he said that these requests went unheeded.
Father Cyril Gamini also said they lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department into a statement by Minister Prasanna Ranatunga that former President Maithripala Sirisena should be held responsible for the attacks, adding that investigations have not been initiated by the CID or the government.
Therefore, he urged the Public Security Minister to issue directives to investigate these complaints.
