The conditions imposed on sugar and rice purchases at Sathosa outlets have been removed, said Trade Minister Dr.Bandula Gunawardena. The Minister previously said that the consumers have to purchase at least five items if they buy rice or sugar at Sathosa outlets as those are sold at concessionary prices. This proposal met with heavy criticism.
However, the Minister later said the people can buy rice and sugar at Sathosa with no conditions.
