A girl has died while her mother and younger brother escaped unharmed following an earth slip at Wennoruwa area along the Alawwa – Narammala main road this morning.
The deceased is a 23-year-old who worked in the staff of a private hospital.
The earth slip had occurred due to the heavy rains experienced in the area throughout the night yesterday causing damage directly to the room where she was sleeping, the area residents said.
Her mother and brother sustain no injuries. The daughter has died on admission to the hospital, police said.
