Inclement weather affects over 7,000

Six people died, while 7,167 people were affected in several districts of the country due to adverse weather conditions, stated the Disaster Management Centre (DMC)

Over810 houses had been fully or partially damaged, while 7,167 people belonging to 1836 families in 15 districts have been affected due to the adverse weather prevailing in several parts of the country, according to the DMC.

“People in the Badulla, Nuwara Eliya, Matale, Kandy, Mulaitivu, Colombo, Trincomalee, Mannar, Ratnapura, Kalutara, Puttalam, Anuradhapura, Jaffna, Galle and Kegalle districts have been affected by the rains, floods, landslides and winds,” the DMC said.
