Eelam People's Democratic Party (EPDP) is still undecided on how to contest the upcoming general election from the Jaffna District, its leader, Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Minister Douglas Devananda.He said however, his party would support the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) under the leadership of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The minister stated this speaking to media in Colombo on Friday.
He said there are several proposals with regard to the mode of contesting at the election such as contesting alone, with the SLPP or as an alliance with the other Tamil Political parties. All these proposals are at the discussion level, the EPDP leader said.While stressing that his party would support all the policy decisions by the present government, Devananda also said that he believed the government would provide a solid answer to the ethnic issue in the country.
