Palitha’s travel ban lifted till Feb.4

The Colombo High Court was yesterday lifted the travel ban imposed on retired Major General Palitha Fernando named as an accused in the Avant Garde floating armoury case.

Counsel who appeared for Fernando moved court to release his client’s passport citing that Fernando expects to travel Malaysia to participate in the first session of Asian Athletic Association representing Sri Lanka as Athletic Association of Sri Lanka President to be held from January 30 .

Considering the facts the Colombo High Court ordered to lift the travel ban imposed against Fernando from January 28 to February 4.

The case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Champa Janaki Rajaratne.

The case will be taken up again on February 6 and the case was fixed for trial on February 14.
