JSC should conduct inquiry into legal fraternity persons mentioned in Ranjan’s voice recordings - Rtd. Major Ajith Prasanna

The Judicial Services Commission (JSC) should conduct an inquiry into the persons of the legal fraternity mentioned in the controversial voice recordings made by Ranjan Ramanayake MP, Convenor of Mawbima Wenuwen Ranaviruwo Organisation Retired Major Ajith Prasanna said while addressing the media in Colombo yesterday.

Prasanna especially mentioned the Sil clothes case against former Secretary to the President Lalith Weerathunga and former TRC Chairman Anusha Pelpita and noted that an investigation should be conducted to ascertain whether any wrongdoing was committed when convicting the above former officials for the incident.

Prasanna said a High Court Judge who commented that the case could not be heard under the Public Property Act was soon transferred after the comments raising suspicions.

Prasanna said the revelations in the Ranjan Ramanayake tapes should be probed to ascertain as to what extent some members of the former regime had influenced the judiciary.
