Kanjipani Imran’s father, brother and four others, who were arrested while trying to smuggle proscribed items for Kanjipani Imran, were produced before Galle magistrate yesterday and remanded till September 25.
The six persons were arrested by prison officers when the suspects were attempting to hand over proscribed items Kanjipani, who is remanded in the Boosa Prison in Galle.
Prison officers detected two mobile phones, two chargers, a piece of wire cord packed covertly in two lunch packets brought to be given to Mohammed Najeem Mohammed Imran alias Kanjipani Imran.
