Fisheries and Aquatic Resources State Minister Dilip Vedaarachchi said that if Gotabaya Rajapaksa comes to power, the country will get a tyrannical rule.
“The people, therefore, must think twice before voting for the SLPP Presidential Candidate,” he said.
The State Minister said the people can expect nothing new by electing Gotabaya because he is one of the same old group and strategy. “A new leader who could ensure the country’s democracy and national security must be elected this time if the people want a better future for the country,” he said.
He also said the government resolved many of the issues created by the Rajapaksas during the previous government and also launched many a development project. The State Minister said corruption and nepotism were rampant during the Rajapaksa regime.
“The Pohottuwa party accuses the government of selling state banks which we will never do, but the previous government sold state assets to foreign countries without even the Cabinet approval,” he said.
