Two police officers on patrol duty were injured following a shootout at Panathugama area in Akuressa early this morning.
According to the Police Media Spokesperson’s office, the incident occurred at around 1.00 am , Unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle have opened fire at the two cops.
The police officers were taken to the Matara Hospital.
No arrests have been made so far. Police are investigating.
