SriLankan Airlines, the National Carrier of Sri Lankan and a member of the oneworld alliance, organized a familirization tour for a group of journalists representing leading publication in China. China being one of the Airline’s key markets and one of the top tourism feeder markets of Sri Lanka, the Airline has been steering many initiatives to retain Sri Lanka’s appeal as a sought-after destination among the Chinese travellers, post Easter. The touring journalists visited sites of cultural significance such as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, Temple of the Tooth Relic of the Buddha in Kandy, Lion Fortress of Sigiriya and the Dutch Fort of Galle, the much acclaimed UNESCO World Heritage sites. The trip included a visit to the elephant orphanage in Pinnawala, Minneriya National Park, lush tea gardens in the central hills and a city tour in Colombo. Whilst enjoying the picturesque beauty of Sri Lanka and the hospitality of the people, they were able to see that the country has returned to normalcy.
