The Colombo Commercial High Court has issued a estraining order preventing a company called Manchester Soccer Academy from utilizing the trademark and company alogo of Manchester United Football Club Ltd. This order will be effective until July 29.
The Colombo Commercial High Court made this order pursuant to lawsuit filed by Manchester United Football Club Ltd alleging that a company named Manchester Soccer Academy was utilizing its trademark and the company logo by violating rights guaranteed under Intellectual Property Act.
Counsel Manoj Bandara under the instructions of counsel Sudath Perera appeared for plaintiff.
