A police officer and an intoxicated youth with two packets of heroin had fallen down a precipice following a chase in Badulla on Wednesday.
The police had pursued the youth who tried to flee and both ended up falling 10 feet down the precipice on to the bus depot premises.
The employees of the depot handed over the youth to the police.
The youth was admitted to the Badulla Base Hospital. The police officer too suffered minor injuries to his head.
Investigations continue.
