CPC premises clash case: Further inquiry to be held in April

The case filed against Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Colombo Municipal Councillor Kulatissa Deeganage, his nephew Gayan Kulawansha Kulatissa and eight others, were yesterday fixed for further inquiries for April 26 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayarathne.

On a previous occasion, the Colombo Crime Division informed court that councillor Kulatissa's action was the main cause of the clash at the CPC premises on October 28. All the suspects are currently on bail. SLPP Colombo Municipal Council’s Kulatissa Deeganage was also accused of forcibly entering the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation premises and behaving in an unruly manner creating unrest.

The Colombo Crimes Division informed court that they are conducting further investigations following CCTV footage obtained from the CPC premises. Attorney Susil Premajayantha appeared on behalf of the suspects.The Magistrate ordered the CCD to expedite investigations into the incident. The Magistrate fixed the case for April 26.
