Four persons including two army soldiers were fined Rs.6000 and sentenced to eight months suspended for 10 years for having a gun by Dambulla Magistrate I.M.S.B. Illangasingha.
The suspects had robbed the gun from a resident at Nilannoruwa in February last year.
The magistrate convicted them for two counts and the second accused was convicted for misleading the court giving a false statement. He was sentenced for one month’s RI.
The accused were D.G.Karunarathna, N.G.Rathnasiri Bandara, D.G. Jayarathna and D.G.Nimal Wijerathna. They all are residents of Nilannoruwa.
