Influenza A(A1N1) in Bibila and Medagama MOH divisions are completely controlled , the Director General of Health Services Dr. Jayasundara Bandara said.
According to the Health records 30 patients had been admitted to the Bibila Base Hospital since January 27 to February 8, Dr. Jayasundara Bandara said.
Four of them were pregnant mothers and five are children.
Blood sample of these patients have been sent to the Medical Research Institute in Borella, he said.
The DG said that few patients who received treatment from hospital were already discharged and no deaths reported so far.
The Health Ministry has taken steps to provide necessary medicines without any shortage, the DG said.
Dr. Jayasundara Bandara said that the climatic situation prevailing in December and January has caused the prevalence of the virus which has caused this disease.
