<p>Maya Dmitri was, recently, crowned Miss International Sri Lanka 2024 during a coronation ceremony held at the Mansion at Mövenpick Colombo. This prestigious event marked the culmination of Maya's extraordinary journey, characterised by dedication, grace, and an unwavering commitment to effecting positive change on a global scale. Chosen by the National Director of Sri Lanka, Jayashankar Muthuwerala and Head of Operations of The Agency Sri Lanka, Kosh Hewage, Maya emerged as the ideal representative to showcase Sri Lanka's beauty, intellect, and compassion at the forthcoming 62nd edition of Miss International, set to take place in Tokyo, Japan, in October 2024.</p>
<p>At 21 years old, Maya is currently pursuing a degree in software engineering with a major in cybersecurity, aspiring to become an expert in her field. Expressing her excitement about representing her country on the Miss International stage, Maya articulated her passion for instigating positive change in the education system in Sri Lanka. She emphasised the significance of the title in providing her with a platform, a voice, and the necessary publicity to advocate for her causes, aiming to inspire and empower others while fostering international understanding and friendship.</p>
<p>Maya Dmitri's coronation not only celebrates her remarkable achievements in the modelling industry but also acknowledges her steadfast dedication to social causes. Coming from a family deeply rooted in values of service and volunteerism, Maya's journey epitomises ambition and an unyielding commitment to effecting positive change. Balancing her academic pursuits with her modelling career, Maya has exhibited exceptional grace and resilience, captivating the hearts of many along the way.</p>
<p>Her advocacy work particularly centred on education, empowerment, and cancer prevention, underscores Maya's commitment to driving sustainable change. As the founder of the 'Atman Association,' Maya has tirelessly worked to uplift underprivileged communities and enhance educational facilities across Sri Lanka. In the fashion realm, Maya has garnered acclaim, collaborating with renowned local designers and gracing prestigious runways both domestically and internationally. The coronation ceremony served as a fitting tribute to Maya's accomplishments, marking the commencement of her journey as Miss International 2024. As she embarks on this glamorous adventure, Maya carries with her the hopes and blessings of Sri Lanka, poised to make a lasting impact on the global stage.</p>
