“The vibrant atmosphere of innovation and creativity filled the air as DREAMCRAFT Young Innovators Exhibition marked the International Innovation and Creativity Day at Trace Expert City, in Maradana, Colombo 10, yesterday (21).
The event, organized by IgniterSpace as the education partner and TRACE as the ecosystem partner, showcased the creativity of young minds aged 5 to 15 years old. IgniterSpace, a beacon of innovation in Sri Lanka, played a pivotal role in nurturing the creative potential of young students, evident through the groundbreaking inventions unveiled at the exhibition. The exhibition was inaugurated with an inspiring welcome speech by Hussam Sardeen, setting an enthusiastic tone for the day. Among the highlights was the presentation by Manuja Pabuditha, a student from IgniterSpace, who showcased his drone invention—a testament to the transformative power of IgniterSpace’s Level 4 Programme.
The event also featured a panel discussion on the significance of STEM and innovation education for children, moderated by esteemed personalities, including Professor Rangika Halwathura, Ms. Vindya Wijesinghe, and Heminda Jayaweera. Their insights underscored the critical role of educational initiatives, like IgniterSpace, in fostering a culture of innovation from an early age.
Thanuwara Vindew, another bright talent from IgniterSpace, showcased his innovative 3D printer, exemplifying the hands-on learning approach embraced by IgniterSpace to empower young learners.
The success stories shared at the exhibition, such as Dinuda Yaggahavita’s journey from IgniterSpace student to the founding of his own startup, The MakersGlobal, exemplify the profound impact of IgniterSpace in nurturing entrepreneurial spirit and fostering a culture of innovation.
The event concluded with the awarding of certificates to participants, celebrating their achievements and commitment to innovation.
