Woman arrested over deceiving for jobs in Oman

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday arrested a woman on a complaint of deceiving and sending women for domestic

work in Oman, promising jobs as sewing machine operators in a garment factory in Dubai.

The suspect a resident of Galewela was arrested on a complaint received by another woman.

The woman, who complained to the Police, said that she was promised a job in a garment factory in Dubai as a machine operator, and after registering her with the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau, she was taken to Oman and given a job as a domestic worker. She said that she did not even receive her salary. She had complained to the CID upon her return to the country.
