Watch: Women in Gwalior ditch shorts to play football in saree

Madhya Pradesh: A football tournament organised by the Gwalior Municipal Corporation and the Senior Member Association of Junior Chamber International (an NGO). Participants were seen wearing saris while playing the match.

The unique tournament was first held in Indore last week. The tournament was named “Goal in a Saree,” as the name suggested the team members were seen in sarees instead of sports jerseys.

This was the second edition of the tournament held in MP on March 25 and 26. As per the media reports, the participants were aged between 20 and 72 years. While a video of the match is going viral, women can be seen playing the match in colourful Marathi-style saris with shoes, with IAS Kishore Kanyal doing the commentary.
