Toyota Hilux gets a huge price cut, check new rate here!

New Delhi: Japanese automaker Toyota Kirloskar has cut the prices of its lifestyle pickup Hilux in India. The vehicle comes in two trims namely Standard and High. This reduction in prices has been done only for the standard trim, while the prices of the high trim have been increased.

What is the change in prices

After the change in prices, the starting ex-showroom price of Toyota Hilux is now reduced by Rs. 3.59 lakhs to Rs. 30.40 lakhs, which is for its standard trim. However, the price of the High MT and High AT variants has also been increased by Rs 1.35 lakh and Rs 1.10 lakh respectively, after which the ex-showroom price of the top Hilux variant has now become Rs 37.90 lakh.

Toyota Hilux Design

The Toyota Hilux is extreme with the double-cab body style. Its front features a large hexagonal chrome grille and swept-back LED headlamps. Also, it has been briefed with black plastic cladding on the wheel arch, which adds to its off-roader look. The rear gets a simple design with lots of chrome work, which looks like a traditional truck. Its length is 5,325mm, width 1,855mm, height 1,815mm and wheelbase 3,085mm.

Interior & Features

The interiors of the Hilux are very similar to the Fortuner, although the dashboard layout is slightly different, it gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, Features like electrochromic inside rear-view mirror, tire angle monitor, active traction control and automatic limited slip differential are available.

How is the powertrain?

Hilux and Fortuner are built on the same platform. Toyota’s IMV ladder-frame chassis has been used to build both. It gets a 2.8-litre diesel engine, which generates 204hp power and 420 Nm torque (500 Nm in automatic). It is mated to 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The Hilux also gets front and rear electronic differential locks along with four wheel drive as standard.

Who competes with

The lifestyle pickup truck competes closely with its nearest competitor in the market, the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, which is priced between Rs. 23 lakh to Rs. 27 lakh, ex-showroom.
