A person who was carrying two parcels of 04kgs of Kerala Ganja in a bus traveling from Jaffna to Mannarwas arrested yesterday (01 March) during the search conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy and the police at the Sangupiddi roadblock in Jaffna.
The gross value of the seized Kerala ganja is believed to be close to one million rupees.
The suspect arrested with Kerala Ganja was identified as a 26-year-old resident of Analativ Island, Jaffna. Arrangements have been made to hand over the arrested Kerala Ganja and the suspect to Punakari Police Station for further legal action.
