Supreme Court extends Pawan Khera’s interim bail till March 17

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday extended the interim bail of Congress leader Pawan Khera till 17th March in a case related to Khera’s alleged objectionable remark against Prime Minister Modi.

The Assam Police had arrested Pawan Khera from Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi.

A three-judge bench headed by the Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud adjourned the hearing of the matter to 17 March. The three-judge constitutional bench comprises CJI D Y Chandrachud, Justice P S Narasimha and J B Pardiwala.

The bench pointed out that the replies of Assam’s and UP Police are not on record, so, the court will hear the matter after the Holi vacation.

Earlier, on February 27. The SC had extended the bail of Khera till Friday (March 3) as Assam and UP police sought time to file their replies.

Pawan Khera was arrested by Assam’s Police at Delhi Airport after being deplaned from a Raipur bond flight over his alleged remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he made at a Press conference in Mumbai.
