The Education Ministry said the third school term for 2022 in government and government approved private (Sinhala and Tamil medium) schools will end today (24).
The first school term for 2023 will commence on Monday (27). The Ministry also says that although the new school terms started with the beginning of the year as usual, due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, there has been a change in the start and end of the school terms.
However it will try as much as possible to start the first school term from 2024 in January, as in the past, by minimising school holidays, Ministry sources said.
