Rupee depreciates slightly

After a period almost two weeks, Rupee has depreciated against the USD by a very slight margin today (10 March) according to the CBSL.

In comparison to yesterday there is a slight depreciation of the Rupee, where the buying rate USD has increased to Rs. 311. 62 from yesterday’s (09 March) Rs. 307.36 and the selling rate has increased to Rs. 328.90 from Rs. 325.52 per USD. CBSL has stated that despite the depreciation by 2 to 5 LKR, the Rupee still remains stable against the foreign currencies.

These rates are based on the average currency quoted for Colombo for Telegraph transfers by Commercial banks.
