Propelled by modern tech stack, Flipspaces revolutionises commercial design space

With a strong vision for the future, Kunal Sharma, Founder & CEO and Ankur Muchhal, Co-Founder and COO share their story on “How Flipspaces is revolutionising the commercial space design propelling its technology suit, with an endeavour of becoming a leading global design-tech brand.”

A deep dive into the inception of Flipspaces

Founded by Kunal Sharma and Ankur Muchhal in 2015, Flipspaces is a global interior design-tech venture based out of 12 cities worldwide having offices in cities including but not limited to Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and New York (USA). It uses its multi-module technology stack to bridge the gaps in the customer experience journey pertaining to interior designing, associated product and service supply, and the project execution industry. While solving tangible issues faced by different stakeholders in the value chain through its proprietary technology suite, Flipspaces is redefining the way the commercial interior design and build industry operates. With over 6+ million sft. of delivered space across almost all commercial real estate categories, it has become the de facto choice of turnkey design and execution brand for start-ups, coworking, retail, corporates and F&B players.

Leveraging Tech Stacks to drive the service offerings

At the core of all offerings is their global-first proprietary technology suite called VIZWORLD which creates efficiency at every level of workflow including design, product fulfilment, and project management. “Our tech suite is actually a boon for small or mid-sized businesses who do not have the time, knowledge or resources to deal with multiple stakeholders in their design and build journey,” says Kunal Sharma, Founder and CEO of Flipspaces.

The result of this revolution has been nothing but extraordinary, evident in the way the brand is expanding in the international territories eyeing the $1 trillion global market size.

How Vizcart, An Flipspaces initiative aids in gamifying the interior-designing experience for the consumers

The Flipspaces Supply Chain is built around a deeply researched and price-discovered catalogue of 300 thousand products and services deliverable across geographies in India and the US.

“The small and mid-sized customer lacks the time and knowledge to deal with multiple stakeholders like interior designers, multiple product suppliers and turnkey contractors. Flipspaces provides a platform where all of these can be seamlessly discovered and empanelled either separately or as an integrated service,” says Ankur Muchhal, Co-Founder and COO.

Tech-driven Flipspaces products aid in boosting efficiency & customer delight, whilst being budget friendly

With over 300,000 products ranging from workstations, cabinets & storages, plug-and-play spaces, office furniture and equipment, restaurant furniture and fixtures, and multi-family housing products such as a kitchen range along with an exhaustive range of school and hotel furniture, the list is endless.

“Ultimately, designing a new space is like creating a new world. But the joy of this creation is taken away by a lack of transparency and efficiency at every step of the interior design and build process. What should be a child-like joy of creating something new is replaced by a frustrating experience for the SME owner or developer looking to design and build related products or services. Our endeavour is to put the joy back into this process by driving customer delight in every step of this process which is only possible through a bespoke tech suite combined with category-defining processes and benchmarks,” says Kunal.

Growth story in 2022 amidst the pandemic effect

Over the last 4 quarters, Flipspaces claims to have grown 350% in the US market and is now profitable at the EBITDA level in the geography. “The fact that today our order book is 500-600% of our trailing twelve months revenue. This is largely driven by our growth in the USA” remarks Ankur Muchhal, Co-Founder and Head of US Business at Flipspaces. The achievement of these figures was during times that were constrained by the pandemic and other restrictions.

Future outlook of the Segment?

“Profitable Growth and Progressive Moat” has been the mantra for Flipspaces all through, says Kunal. “Small and Mid-Sized mandates for Design, Product Supply and Project Management are broken, underserviced and lack a seamless customer experience globally. At Flipspaces, leveraged by a cutting-edge tech suite, we’re looking to become the Global Go-to platform to fulfil this need of the small and medium-sized projects category. In doing so, we are making the world a more beautiful place to live in, quite literally,” adds Sharma.
