President addressed the parliament today morning (07 March) and stated that the country has taken many efforts to ensure economic revival and that steps are being taken to ensure continuous economic progress.
President also noted that, while the economic policies adopted are quite harsh and has severely affected the everyone in the country, it was necessary in order to recover and stabilize the country’s falling economy.
The President also informed the Parliament today that the Chinese guarantee related to Sri Lanka’s debt restructuring has been given to the International Monetary Fund.Thus, China has officially informed that it will provide its support for the restructuring of Sri Lanka’s external debt.
