New Delhi: Electric vehicle manufacturer Matter Energy has launched its first electric bike, Era in India. The company has kept the ex-showroom price of the 5000 variant of this bike at Rs 1.44 lakh and the top-spec 5000+ variant at Rs 1.54 lakh. Going forward, four variants of this bike will be available for sale in the market.
How is the Matter Era Electric Bike?
Liquid-cooled, 5kWh battery pack has been given in both the variants of this bike. The company has claimed a real-world range of 125km for this bike. The liquid-cooled motor fitted in it can generate a maximum power output of 10.5kW. The weight of this battery is about 40 kg. The total weight of the Aira e-bike is around 180 kg. A 4-speed gearbox has been given in this bike.
How are the features?
The Aira 5000 features optional Bluetooth connectivity, park assist, keyless operation, OTA updates, progressive blinkers and a 7-inch touch-compatible display with welcome lights. Bluetooth connectivity is available as standard in 5000+.
Mater era electric bike price
The price of Matter Era has been kept at Rs 1.44 lakh and Rs 1.54 lakh for 5000 and 5000+ variants respectively. There will be a standard 3-year warranty on both the battery pack and the bike. However, for this you will have to buy a separate charger, the price of which has not been disclosed at the moment.
20 dealerships will open by next month
Matter Energy has said that its first experience center is going to open in Ahmedabad in the next 45 days and the company plans to open 20 dealerships across the country in the next three months. Also, their number is expected to reach 100 by the end of this year.
Booking will open soon
Currently, pre-orders for the bike are open in metros and tier-1 cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Pune and Chennai. Bookings for the Mater Era are expected to open in the next 30 days. The company says that it has started preparing its manufacturing facility in November 2022. However, the company has not told anything about what will be the delivery deadline.
Will compete with TVS Apache RTR 160
This bike will compete with TVS Apache RTR 160 in the Indian market. This bike gets a 159.7cc engine, which generates power of 16.04 PS and torque of 13.85 Nm.
