Land for Job Scam: Delhi court asks CBI to submit chargesheets’ copy of all accused

New Delhi: The Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court Wednesday posted the hearing in the land for job scam for May 8 while asking the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to provide copy of charge sheets to all the accused.

Earlier in the day, former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi along with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Misa Bharti arrived at Rouse Avenue Court in the national capital to attend Court proceedings in the matter.

ED raided on March 10

Earlier, a CBI team interrogated wife of RJD chief Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi at his Patna residence in the matter, which followed several raids by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 10.

The investigation agency had probe residences of many close relatives of Lalu Yadav. Later in a press conference, the ED claimed to confiscate cash worth Rs 1 crore, gold ornaments weighing more than one and a half kilos, 540 grams of gold, US dollars and many other things were recovered.

What is land for job scam?  

Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav is accused of taking land from people in lieu of railway jobs when he was Railway Minister between 2004 and 2009.

For which, the CBI had registered a case against Lalu Yadav. The CBI had filed a charge sheet in the matter last year, in which it had claimed that appointments were made illegally in violation of railways’ procedure.
